SA Discovery, a unique 21-day journey through the stunning landscapes of South Africa, divided into two captivating parts. For this adventure, we provide a perfectly equipped 4x4 vehicle with all the necessary off-road settings.
The first part of the journey predominantly covers the Western Cape, with several days around Cape Town, followed by tracing the breathtaking coastline from Hermanus to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans converge. Depending on the season, a Whale-watching cruise in Hermanus is included.
Following this adventurous expedition, a magnificent safari park awaits, offering not only relaxation but also the opportunity to encounter the Big 5 during exciting safaris over your 2-night stay.
After an internal flight from Port Elizabeth to Durban, a 4x4 vehicle awaits once again to continue your journey to St Lucia. Enjoy a unique "glamping" experience, embark on safaris to spot hippos and crocodiles, and explore the hinterland up to the impressive Drakensberg Mountains and South Africa's highest unpaved pass, the Sani Pass.
In contrast to the mountain passes of the Alps or the Pyrenees, no one has erected a cross at the top of the Drakensberg; instead, there's an entire pub. It proudly holds the title of the Highest Pub in Africa.
During the second part, discover the village of Clarens, ranking in the top ten most romantic villages in South Africa, before traveling on smooth highways to the renowned Kruger National Park. Three days of self-discovery, optional safaris, and breathtaking views await you. Don't forget your binoculars and camera!
As a grand finale, the Panorama Route is on the agenda, featuring stunning natural beauty and optional activities such as ziplining or the "big swing." The final night offers an atmospheric tent overlooking the valley.
On the very last day, a relaxed 150-kilometer drive to Johannesburg airport is scheduled. There, you return the vehicle and commence your journey back home.
Let these 21 days be an unforgettable adventure in South Africa, with Maîté Iphupho as your travel organizer.
